Q: Is Lori a Christian counselor?
A: Lori offers Christian counseling as one of her services and is happy to discuss this in more detail if you would like.

Q: What is the purpose of an initial assessment?
A: The initial assessment provides an opportunity for the counselor to gather information, develop a clinical impression of the issues that need to be addressed, and make a recommendation. The assessment also gives the client an opportunity to get to know the counselor and evaluate whether or not there is a good fit between counselor and client.
Q: What if I cannot afford the fees for counseling?
A: Lori offers a sliding-fee scale for those who cannot afford the full fee. The scale is based on the family income and family size. If criteria are met, the fee may be lowered.

Q: Is what I talk about in my sessions confidential?
A: All information discussed in counseling is confidential, with the following exceptions: a report of abuse or neglect to a child, elder, or disabled person is made; a judge subpoenas my records; the client threatens to harm self or others; or a report is made of abuse by another therapist. Additionally, any records that contain information about substance abuse are further protected by the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 42, Part 2 (CFR 42, Part 2).
